Chitra Narayanan's research expertise are in biophysics and computational chemistry. Chitra's research at York involves the application of computational approaches 1) to characterize the effect of particulate pollutants released from sustainable aviation fuel combustion on alpha-synuclein aggregation and Parkinson's disease, 2) use enzyme engineering for designing enzymes to scaling up sustainable aviation fuel production, and 3) design novel antimicrobial peptides based on human enzymes that display potent antibacterial activities.
